I got this for my son to see if he was as much a leo maniac as his dad. If not, I thought it would teach him a basic concept or two. It's a nice product when finished. My son now understands why cars have a suspension and how they steer. The piston concept is a little unusual and reversed, and I took longer to explain why the wheels are driving the pistons when it really is the other way around in real life (well unless you're coasting where the engine is simply being run by the engaged wheels) Also, pistons are supposed to be closed so while that part can be explained to older kids. younger ones may not get it. But STOP right there. Kids are entitled to their fun and everything shouldn't simply be looked at from its educational value. I just got carried away by my educational background. Technic lego skips the silly little details in exchange for the big picture. I recall being able to understand how a differential works far better than I would with something far more realistic,...
