The TIE Fighter/Y-Wing Lego set has been releasesd three times (1999, 2002, 2004) and is a classic Star Wars Lego set containing two great craft.
My all time favorite, the Y-Wing, is a beutiful starfighter with two hidden compartments (one detatchable), an R5-D4 unit, Rebel Pilot "Gold Leader", and a rotating twin-ion turret located above the cockpit. The Y-Wing is quite durable also.
The TIE Fighter (which is actually a TIE Advanced) is too a good starfighter that comes with Vader, his lightsaber, and his cape. Although it may not seem like it, the TIE is also durable. Some [other owners of this set] complain about Darth Vader's cape being crumpled when you insert him into the cockpit.
Solution: Take cape off, then insert Vader. Slide cape behind Lord Vader for storage.
Building the set may be a little challenging because sorting through TWO ships worth of parts to find the right piece can be hard. I sorted my pieces before building...
