Review : Love this microscope
I ordered this for my 11-year-old daughter for Christmas and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the scope. I had read many poor reviews about other cheaper brands and was a little leary about purchasing this microscope since there weren't any reviews yet. But i'm happy to report that this microscope works fine. It has a metal contruction instead of plastic and has a light in addition to a mirror. We haven't mastered the mirror yet, so its pretty important to have a light source. Since this microscope didn't come with any slides (which is a minor drawback), I also ordered a slide kit. We have had no problems zooming in on the specimens. We start on the low setting first, and then rotate to the higher power lenses. Which works great. I thought that only having a 400 zoom might be limiting since others boast a 900, but we can see all details clearly. The built in stop prevents us from cracking the slide which is also a plus.
